MUSCAT CITY TOUR

After breakfast you will meet our guide and driver who will escort you to the waiting coach to depart for an orientation tour of Muscat City. Our experienced guide will give you detailed information about the country and you are free to field any questions.
You would start your tour with the visit to the Natural History Museum boasting a wide range of flora and fauna including a giant fossil.
Thereafter, proceed for a visit to the Grand Mosque ( open for visitors from Sat to Wed only except holidays) which is one the largest mosques in the world with beautiful art work, chandeliers and a single piece carpet covering the entire prayer hall measuring approx 4300 square meters
After the visit continue the drive to the Al Alam Palace (visit stop only-no photo) flanked by the two Portuguese Forts of Jalali and Mirani.
Continue driving along the corniche waterfront to the Muttrah souq, one of the oldest souqs in Oman. The narrow alleys of the souq and the smell of the mystical frankincense and sandalwood in the air are typical to this souq. After the visit return to your vehicles to drive back to the hotel.

	A SUNSET CRUISE
At 1530 hrs you will be met by our driver who will transfer you to the pier at the Marina Bander Al Rawdha to board a dhow for a short cruise along the magnificent coastline of Oman
During the course of the cruise you will be served soft drinks/water/ Omani Dates and Khawa. You will cruise along the coastline sailing past the old town of Muttrah , Al Alam Palace, Al Bustan Palace Hotel (Above right), Oman Dive Centre (Below left) and witness the glorious sunset. The journey of about two hours then rewinds back to the pier. You will then be driven back to your place of stay.


FULL DAY MUSCAT/ NAKHL/BILAT SAIT/MUSCAT
After breakfast at 0800 hrs proceed to the Grand Mosque ( open for visitors from Sat to Wed only except holidays) which is one the largest mosques in the world with beautiful art work, chandeliers and a single piece carpet covering the entire prayer hall measuring approx 4300 square meters (now in the Guiness Book of World Records).
After the visit continue your drive along the Batinah coast through the foothills to the Wadi Bani Awf and the Wadi Sahtin. Once entering the wadi where the road runs through a narrow canyon with steep-sided cliffs.
Water flows in interrupted streams along the canyon floor. The jagged hills form a backdrop to the palms and a few scattered dwellings, creating a peaceful serene atmosphere.
Drive through the mountain water at the foot of the Jebel Sham (with its 3.000 meter peak, the highest mountain in Oman). Visit a beautiful mountain village called the Bilad Sait. Picnic lunch will be served atop the mountain with an incredible surrounding view.
You will also visit the Nakhl Fort. This fort once served the Imams of Bani Kharous and the Ya'arubah Dynasty. After recent restoration work carried out on the fort, it is refurbished with the traditional furniture, handicrafts and historic relics. The ceilings, doors and windows are decorated with beautiful carvings. The view from the roof-top is very impressive and offers a panorama of the surrounding landscape.
The old village of Nakhl which nestles below the fort gradually leads to the famous warm springs of Nakhl situated at the end of an bubbling Oasis. Relax by the side of the shallow waters of the springs surrounded by lush green date plantations and steep mountain peaks. Drive back to Muscat in the evening.
