AIRPORT TRANSIT HOTELS OFFER HOTELS AT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTS IN ASIA

As soon as you arrive in Maldives at Male’ International Airport, please visit the Hotels Counter. Your hotel representatives will assist you with your onward journey to your resort by speed boat or sea plane. HOWEVER, if your flight arrival at Male International Airport is at night, you will have to stopover at a hotel in the nearby Male capital city island.

As you come in to land at Male you notice the international airport is a separate island by itself located about 2 kms from the separate island that is Male the capital of the Maldives.

IMMIGRATION

No need to board a bus on arrival. A few brief steps take you the modern airconditioned immigration counter where your passport is stamped with a 30 day tourist visa. Immediately after passport control you move to the baggage carousel where you move to customs clearance. There is no green channel and all baggage is X- Rayed.

CUSTOMS

The following is a list of items whose import is restricted or prohibited by Maldivian law. Narcotics, illicit drugs and psychotropic substances.

Materials contrary to Islam which includes religious idols. Books of other religions like the Bible may be kept by customs at the airport for return before leaving the Maldives.

Arrival Point

ARRIVAL POINT

After clearing customs you move to the arrivals point. There are no porters at the airport. If you have already made a reservation a representative will be there to meet you. Alternatively move to the transfer desk of your host which is marked with your host’s logo.

RESORT TRANSFER POINT

After making yourself known at the transfer desk or to your representative, a quick mini bus transfer will take you to the embarkation point for your air or sea transfer. Within 30 minutes of your arrival in the Maldives you should be on your way to your chosen Hotels resort by sea plane or speed boat

BREATHTAKING AERIAL VIEWS

Transfer by sea plane is the most expensive but offers you breathtaking aerial views of the Maldivian Islands and the coral reefs. Look out of your window and marvel at the tiny islands circled first by white, then by turquoise, then by emerald green and diamond-blue of the deep ocean. The changing colors from deep blue to turquoise around the coral atolls is a sight you will never forget.
